Ingredients
2 pounds snow crab legs, thawed if frozen
1 cup unsalted butter
1 lemon, cut into wedges
1/2 teaspoon salt
Optional: 1/4 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
Instructions
Prepare the drawn butter: In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Remove from heat and let stand for 1 minute. Skim off the foam from the top. Carefully pour the clear yellow liquid into a small bowl, leaving the milky solids behind. Discard the solids. Stir in salt and Old Bay if using. Keep warm.
Steam the crab legs: Fill a large pot with about 1 inch of water and bring to a boil. Place a steamer basket in the pot. Add the crab legs, cover, and steam for 5-7 minutes until heated through.
Serve: Arrange the crab legs on a platter with lemon wedges and the warm drawn butter on the side.
Tips
For extra flavor, add a clove of crushed garlic to the butter while melting, then strain.
Serve with crusty bread to soak up any remaining butter.
