Ingredients
1 ½ cups finely crushed cookie crumbs (graham crackers, chocolate wafers, or shortbread)
¼ cup granulated sugar
6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
In a medium bowl, combine cookie crumbs and sugar. Stir in melted butter until mixture is evenly moistened.
Press the mixture firmly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie plate or springform pan. Use the bottom of a measuring cup to pack it tightly.
Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to set before filling. For a firmer crust, bake at 350°F for 8-10 minutes, then cool completely before filling.
Tips
For a chocolate crust, use chocolate wafer cookies; for a sweeter crust, use shortbread.
Store leftover crust (unfilled) in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
