Ingredients
2 cans (5 oz each) solid white tuna in water, drained
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup finely diced celery
2 tablespoons finely diced red onion
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
8 slices bread (white, whole wheat, or your choice)
4 lettuce leaves
4 slices tomato (optional)
Instructions
In a medium bowl, flake the drained tuna with a fork.
Add mayonnaise, celery, red onion, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined.
Toast the bread slices if desired.
Place a lettuce leaf on 4 slices of bread. Divide the tuna salad evenly among them, spreading to cover. Top with tomato slices if using, then the remaining bread slices.
Serve immediately or wrap tightly for later.
Tips
For a lighter version, substitute half the mayonnaise with plain Greek yogurt.
Add a dash of hot sauce or chopped fresh dill for extra flavor.
