Ingredients
4 leftover or store-bought cinnamon rolls
3 large eggs
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons butter, for frying
1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
2 tablespoons powdered sugar
1 tablespoon milk (for glaze)
Instructions
Slice each cinnamon roll in half horizontally to create two thinner rounds.
In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon until well combined.
Heat a large non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon butter.
Dip each cinnamon roll half into the egg mixture, allowing excess to drip off.
Place dipped rolls in the hot skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through. Repeat with remaining butter and rolls.
Meanwhile, make the glaze: in a small bowl, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and milk until smooth.
Serve French toast drizzled with cream cheese glaze.
Tips
Use day-old cinnamon rolls for best texture; they hold up better when dipped.
Keep cooked French toast warm in a 200°F oven while cooking the rest.
Add a sprinkle of chopped pecans or walnuts for extra crunch.
