Ingredients
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
3 cups powdered sugar
1/3 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
In a large bowl, beat softened butter with an electric mixer until creamy.
Sift cocoa powder into the bowl and mix on low speed until combined.
Gradually add powdered sugar, alternating with milk, beating on medium speed until smooth.
Stir in vanilla extract and beat for another minute until light and fluffy.
Use immediately or refrigerate. If refrigerated, let come to room temperature and re-whip before using.
Tips
For a thicker frosting, add more powdered sugar; for thinner, add more milk.
