1 tablespoon baking powder

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 cup milk
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 large egg
1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
2 tablespoons brown sugar
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper. Stir in cheddar and Parmesan cheeses.
In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, melted butter, and egg. Pour into dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
Pour batter into prepared pan. In a small bowl, mix chopped nuts and brown sugar; sprinkle evenly over batter.
Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into center comes out clean. Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Serve warm or at room temperature.
