Ingredients
1 baguette, sliced into 24 thin rounds
2 tablespoons olive oil
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
2 tablespoons sour cream
1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
1 tablespoon fresh chives, chopped
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
4 ounces smoked salmon, thinly sliced
1 cucumber, sliced into 24 rounds
2 tablespoons capers, drained
Fresh dill sprigs for garnish
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet, brush with olive oil, and toast for 8-10 minutes until golden. Let cool.
In a small bowl, mix cream cheese, sour cream, dill, chives, salt, and pepper until smooth.
Spread a thin layer of herbed cream cheese on each toasted baguette slice.
Top half of the crostini with a folded slice of smoked salmon and a few capers.
For the remaining crostini, place a cucumber round on top of the cream cheese and garnish with a small dill sprig.
Arrange on a platter and serve at room temperature.
Tips
Can be assembled up to 2 hours ahead; cover and refrigerate, then bring to room temperature before serving.
For variety, substitute smoked salmon with prosciutto or roasted red pepper strips.
