Ingredients
1 1/2 cups warm water (110°F)
1 tablespoon active dry yeast
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 tablespoon dried oregano
1 tablespoon dried basil
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (8 oz)
Instructions
In a small bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let stand 5 minutes until foamy.
In a large bowl, mix flour, olive oil, salt, and yeast mixture until a dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for 5 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 450°F. Grease a half-sheet pan (18x13 inches) with olive oil.
Press dough into the pan, stretching to edges. Let rest 10 minutes.
In a small bowl, combine tomato sauce, tomato paste, oregano, basil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Spread evenly over dough.
Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over sauce.
Bake for 20-25 minutes until cheese is bubbly and crust is golden brown. Let cool 5 minutes before cutting into squares.
Tips
For extra flavor, add 1/2 teaspoon onion powder to the sauce.
Leftover pizza can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days; reheat in a 350°F oven.
If you prefer a crispier crust, bake the pizza directly on the oven rack for the last 5 minutes.
