Ingredients
1 lb ground beef (80/20)
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
4 slices cheddar cheese
4 hamburger buns
4 leaves lettuce
4 slices tomato
4 slices red onion
4 tbsp ketchup
4 tbsp mustard
4 large potatoes, cut into fries
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp paprika
Salt and pepper to taste for fries
Instructions
Preheat oven to 425°F. Toss potato fries with olive oil, paprika, salt, and pepper. Spread on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.
In a bowl, combine ground beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Divide into 4 equal portions and shape into patties slightly larger than the buns.
Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook patties for 4-5 minutes per side for medium doneness. During the last minute, place a slice of cheese on each patty and cover to melt.
Toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster until lightly golden.
Assemble burgers: spread ketchup and mustard on the bottom bun, add lettuce, tomato, onion, and the patty with cheese. Top with the other bun half.
Serve burgers immediately with hot fries on the side.
Tips
For extra flavor, add a slice of bacon or a fried egg to each burger.
Leftover fries can be reheated in the oven at 400°F for 5 minutes.
If using a grill, oil the grates to prevent sticking.
