Ingredients
1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
1 (8-ounce) wheel Brie cheese
1/4 cup fruit preserves (such as fig, apricot, or raspberry)
1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
1 large egg, beaten
1 tablespoon water
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry sheet to a 12-inch square.
Place the Brie wheel in the center of the pastry. Spread the fruit preserves on top of the Brie, then sprinkle with chopped nuts.
Fold the pastry up and over the Brie, pleating the edges and pressing to seal. Trim any excess pastry if needed. Flip the wrapped Brie seam-side down onto the prepared baking sheet.
In a small bowl, whisk together the beaten egg and water. Brush the egg wash over the pastry.
Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the pastry is golden brown and puffed. Let cool for 5-10 minutes before serving.
Serve warm with crackers, sliced baguette, or fresh fruit.
Tips
For a savory twist, omit the preserves and nuts and add fresh herbs like thyme or rosemary, and a drizzle of honey.
If the pastry gets too brown before the cheese is fully melted, tent loosely with foil.
Leftovers can be reheated in a 350°F oven for 5-10 minutes.
