Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef, onion, and garlic until beef is browned and onion is soft. Drain excess fat.
Stir in salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
On a lightly floured surface, roll out puff pastry into a 12x12 inch square. Cut into 6 equal rectangles (about 4x6 inches each).
Place about 1/3 cup of beef mixture on one half of each rectangle, leaving a border. Fold the other half over to form a rectangle or triangle. Press edges with a fork to seal.
Place turnovers on prepared baking sheet. Brush tops with beaten egg. Cut small slits in tops to vent.
Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
Tips
Serve with ketchup or hot sauce for dipping.
Leftover turnovers can be reheated in a 350°F oven for 10 minutes.
