1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon brown sugar
4 slices thick white bread
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional: grated cheddar cheese for topping
Instructions
In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the baked beans, Worcestershire sauce, and brown sugar. Stir to combine.
Bring the beans to a gentle simmer, then reduce heat to low. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
While the beans simmer, toast the bread slices until golden brown and crispy.
Place two slices of toast on each plate. Spoon the hot beans over the toast. If desired, sprinkle with grated cheddar cheese and serve immediately.
Tips
For extra richness, add a splash of milk or cream to the beans.
Serve with a fried egg on top for a heartier meal.
Leftover beans can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
