Ingredients
1 lb ground beef (80/20)
8 slices bacon
4 slices cheddar cheese
4 hamburger buns
4 leaves lettuce
4 slices tomato
4 slices red onion
Ketchup and mustard to taste
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Cook bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy, about 8 minutes. Transfer to paper towels to drain.
Divide ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape into patties, slightly larger than the buns. Season with salt and pepper.
Grill or pan-sear patties over medium-high heat for 4 minutes per side for medium doneness. In the last minute, top each patty with a slice of cheese and cover to melt.
Toast buns on the grill or in a skillet until lightly golden.
Assemble burgers: place lettuce, tomato, and onion on bottom bun. Add patty with cheese, then 2 slices of bacon. Spread ketchup and mustard on top bun. Serve immediately.
Tips
For extra flavor, mix Worcestershire sauce into the ground beef before forming patties.
Let patties rest for 2 minutes after cooking to retain juices.
Store leftover cooked patties in the fridge for up to 3 days; reheat in a skillet.
