Ingredients
2 lbs chicken wings, tips removed and separated
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup honey
2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
2 tablespoons rice vinegar
1 tablespoon sesame oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
1 tablespoon cornstarch
2 tablespoons water
1 tablespoon sesame seeds, toasted
2 green onions, sliced
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top.
In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger.
Place chicken wings in a large bowl. Pour half of the sauce over the wings and toss to coat. Reserve remaining sauce.
Arrange wings in a single layer on the prepared rack. Bake for 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, combine reserved sauce with cornstarch and water. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened, about 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat.
After 30 minutes, brush wings with the thickened sauce. Return to oven and bake for another 10-15 minutes, until wings are sticky and caramelized.
Sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions before serving.
Tips
For extra crispy wings, broil for the last 2-3 minutes.
Serve with steamed rice and a side of pickled vegetables.
Leftover wings can be reheated in an air fryer at 350°F for 5 minutes.
