Ingredients
1 lb (450g) pork tenderloin, trimmed
2 teaspoons Chinese five-spice powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Pat pork tenderloin dry with paper towels.
In a small bowl, mix five-spice powder, salt, and pepper. Rub the spice mixture all over the pork.
In another small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, and honey.
Heat vegetable oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the pork for 2-3 minutes per side, until browned all over.
Reduce heat to medium, add garlic and ginger to the skillet, and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Pour the soy sauce mixture over the pork, turning to coat. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven.
Roast for 15-20 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C) for medium doneness.
Remove from oven, tent with foil, and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
Slice into medallions, drizzle with pan juices, and garnish with green onions.
Tips
For extra flavor, marinate the pork in the soy sauce mixture for 30 minutes before cooking.
Serve with steamed jasmine rice and a side of stir-fried bok choy or snap peas.
Leftovers can be sliced thin and used in sandwiches or salads.
