Ingredients
1 cup apple cider or apple juice
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
In a small saucepan, combine apple cider, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, butter, Dijon mustard, cinnamon, cloves, salt, and pepper.
Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally.
Reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the glaze thickens and reduces by about half, 10–15 minutes. It should coat the back of a spoon.
Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Use immediately or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
Tips
Brush the glaze onto meats during the last 15–20 minutes of roasting or grilling to prevent burning.
For a thicker glaze, simmer an additional 5 minutes.
