Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Add diced apples, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Cook, stirring occasionally, until apples are tender and liquid has thickened, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool completely.
  3. On a lightly floured surface, roll out puff pastry sheet to a 12x12 inch square. Cut into 4 equal squares, then cut each square diagonally to make 8 triangles.
  4. Place a spoonful of cooled apple filling near the wide end of each triangle. Fold the wide end over the filling, then roll towards the point, forming a crescent shape. Place on prepared baking sheet, point side down, and curve ends slightly.
  5. Brush each Danish with beaten egg wash. Bake for 15-20 minutes, until golden brown and puffed. Transfer to a wire rack to cool slightly.
  6. In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar and milk until smooth. Drizzle over warm pastries. Serve warm or at room temperature.
