Ingredients
1 lb (450g) ground beef (80/20)
4 slices American cheese
4 hamburger buns, split
4 leaves iceberg lettuce
4 slices tomato
4 slices red onion
8 dill pickle chips
2 tbsp ketchup
2 tbsp mayonnaise
1 tbsp yellow mustard
1 tsp white vinegar
1 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp garlic powder
Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
Preheat a griddle or large skillet over medium-high heat. Divide ground beef into 4 equal portions and form into thin patties slightly larger than the buns. Season generously with salt and pepper.
Cook patties for 3-4 minutes per side, pressing down with a spatula occasionally. In the last minute, place a slice of cheese on each patty and cover to melt.
Meanwhile, mix ketchup, mayonnaise, mustard, vinegar, sugar, paprika, and garlic powder in a small bowl to make the special sauce.
Toast the buns on the griddle until lightly golden, about 1 minute.
Assemble burgers: spread special sauce on bottom bun, add lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle chips, then the patty with cheese. Top with bun.
Serve immediately.
Tips
Use 80/20 ground beef for juiciest patties.
Keep patties thin and edges slightly ragged for that drive-thru look.
