Ingredients
- 4 cups fresh fruit (e.g., watermelon, cantaloupe, or strawberries), chopped
- 2 cups cold water
- 2 tablespoons lime juice
- 2 tablespoons sugar or honey, or to taste
- Ice cubes for serving
- Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Place the chopped fruit in a blender. Add 1 cup of water and blend until smooth.
- Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher, pressing on the solids to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard solids.
- Stir in the remaining 1 cup water, lime juice, and sugar or honey until dissolved. Adjust sweetness to taste.
- Refrigerate until cold, or serve immediately over ice. Garnish with mint leaves if desired.
Tips
- For a smoother texture, skip straining if using soft fruits like watermelon.
- Add a pinch of salt to enhance the flavors.
- Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 days; stir before serving.
